Wilson unveils REVO ball, the official flag football for the 2028 LA Olympics

Wilson introduced the REVO, a football designed specifically for flag football, which will be used at the sport’s Olympic debut in Los Angeles 2028.

After a multi-year design process, Wilson launched the REVO, the first football engineered solely for flag football, and confirmed it will be the official ball at the sport’s first Olympic appearance in Los Angeles in 2028. The company worked with the International Federation of American Football to ensure the ball meets the needs of the faster, non-tackling game, incorporating a marginally smaller size, centrally re-balanced weight for higher spin, white grip stripes and a “zero-proof” leather that feels broken-in from the start.

Testing involved participants from the World Flag Football Championships in Finland and elite quarterbacks from top nations. The REVO will also be used in all IFAF-approved qualifiers and is slated for introduction to NCAA and high-school programs, with several Division I schools already adopting women’s flag football. Wilson added a lower-cost Speedskin version and appointed Ashlea Klam and Diana Flores as global flag ambassadors.

Why it matters

The new ball standardizes equipment for Olympic flag football and could shape how the sport is played worldwide.
