Wisconsin high school quarterback dies from injuries sustained in season opener

Adam Massman, a senior quarterback at Alma Center Lincoln High, died following injuries he sustained during the team’s season-opening football game against Turtle Lake on Aug. 20. Emergency medical personnel responded at the venue and transported him to a hospital, where he later passed away. The district confirmed the death while limiting details to information approved by Massman’s family.

Superintendent Drew Semingson praised Massman’s involvement in sports, clubs, and community life. The school will provide counseling sessions for students, parents, and friends on Aug. 24 at noon and on Aug. 25. Officials emphasized support resources for the grieving school community.
