Wisconsin man charged with stalking found with human remains and serial-killer memorabilia

Benjamin Larson, 47, was charged with stalking after a woman reported that he had pursued her since June 2013, when she allowed him to create a body cast at his Madison house. The two met only a few times before she ended the relationship following a threatening phone call in which Larson claimed he was suicidal. Fearing for her safety, the woman relocated to Canada and received a flood of unsettling emails and letters from Larson, including a 2015 message about a tattoo of her initials.

Police searching his Fond du Lac home on August 14 found a glass casket holding skeletal remains, a human skull displayed in glass, a lifelike silicone sex doll, and numerous binders containing items linked to serial killer Edward Gein. Additional finds included poison, bullets resembling those used by the Zodiac Killer, and a jar labeled as containing a piece of John Wayne Gacy’s brain. Anthropologists are being asked to determine whether the bones are genuine, though many appear to be ancient Native American. Larson faces a maximum sentence of 42 months for stalking and will appear in court on September 11.
