Wispr secures $2 billion valuation as voice AI platform expands beyond dictation
Voice-AI startup Wispr raised a $280 million Series B, bringing its valuation to $2 billion as its dictation app gains millions of users.
Tanay Kothari and Sahaj Garg launched Wispr in 2021 after experimenting with wearables and silent-speech technology. Their Wispr Flow dictation app now serves millions of consumers and 100,000 enterprises, driving revenue increases of more than 150% for four straight quarters. Six months after its initial funding, Wispr closed a $280 million Series B round that values the company at $2 billion, with Menlo Ventures as lead investor and participation from Notable Capital, NEA, Neo Ventures, 8VC and newcomers such as Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater, Plus Capital and Peak XV, alongside athletes Joe Burrow, Shaun White, Klay Thompson and Paul George.
The startup positions its technology as a broader solution to eliminate typing, competing with major tech firms that are also developing voice and AI capabilities. Wispr highlights its role in enabling users with ADHD, dyslexia, quadriplegia and blindness, emphasizing privacy and trust as core to its ambient assistance model.
Why it matters
The funding round shows strong investor confidence in voice-AI as a growth market beyond simple dictation.
