Woman alleges husband and two men assaulted and tried to strangle her in UP court

Priya Tripathi, a resident of Samardhira Chauraha, attended a hearing for her maintenance case (Case No. 641/2025) at the family court in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, on September 24. During the session, her father Laxmikant was scheduled to testify. According to her complaint, her husband Manish Kumar Mishra and two other men, Prince Mishra and Satish Mishra, approached her, her father and sister Priyanka from behind, knocked Priya to the floor and attempted to strangle her.

When her father and sister tried to intervene, the three men allegedly pushed them down and also tried to strangle them. Police officers present at the court responded, ending the assault. Priya later filed a written complaint with Kotwali police, providing a video clip she says shows the attack, and is awaiting registration of an FIR and further legal steps.
