Woman arrested after 45-day multi-state hunt in connection with shallow-grave murder

After a roughly 45-day manhunt that stretched across Florida, Georgia and Alabama, a woman wanted for murder was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Task Force at a home in Cottondale, Florida. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office disclosed that the victim’s remains had been placed in a shallow grave and subsequently covered with cement. Law enforcement officials highlighted the extensive effort, noting “tons and tons of man-hours,” more than 40 subpoenas and over 20 search warrants.
The suspect was booked, ordered held without bond, and later transferred from the Jackson County Jail to Walton County for further legal proceedings. Authorities indicated that additional individuals may face charges related to the case, though details remain pending.
