Woman assaulted and spat on by another dog walker in Canterbury
In Canterbury, a 25-year-old woman attacked a fellow dog walker, striking her face repeatedly and spitting on her during a dispute over their dogs.
During a dog-walking session in Canterbury, Lisa Wood was handling her German shepherd on a leash when a mastiff and another dog moved toward them. The mastiff attacked Wood's dog, prompting the second dog to join the fray. Wood attempted to separate the animals by using jumping motions and the leash.
At that point, Lucie Marsh seized Wood's hair, yanked it hard enough to nearly topple her, then delivered multiple punches to Wood's face while shouting that her dogs had been attacked. Marsh also spat on Wood's face, an act the court treated as an aggravating factor. Wood sustained facial scratches, a broken monocle and mild injuries, resulting in a four-week work absence. In court, Marsh pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm and dangerous dog ownership, receiving a six-month community order, 50-pound fine, 300-pound compensation to Wood, plus victim surcharge and court costs.
