Woman fatally slashed in boutique leaves dying note accusing husband

Rajinder Kaur was found dead with a throat wound in her Pinjore shop, having written a note blaming her husband, identified as Sham, for the murder.

On Wednesday morning in Pinjore, near Chandigarh, 42-year-old Rajinder Kaur was found in a pool of blood outside her boutique after a passerby alerted authorities. Despite a severe throat injury, she wrote a final note in Hindi accusing her husband, referred to only as Sham, and his mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law of responsibility for her death. CCTV footage showed a man, presumed to be Sham, entering the shop, pulling down the shutter, and later tightening it before the assault.

After a brief interval, Kaur emerged, blood pouring from her throat, and attempted to seek help before collapsing; locals eventually took her to Kalka hospital where she died. Panchkula police located and detained the husband within two hours, confiscated the weapon, and began interrogation; a post-mortem is set for Thursday.
