Woman in sunglasses and bucket hat attempts to abduct 6-year-old on NYC subway
A disguised woman tried to seize a six-year-old girl at the Inwood-207th Street station, but the child's mother intervened and the suspect fled.
Police say that on July 29 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a woman concealed by oversized sunglasses and a light-blue bucket hat tried to kidnap a six-year-old girl at the Inwood-207th Street station in Upper Manhattan. She seized the child from behind and tried to board the southbound A train with her. The child's mother reacted quickly, confronting the attacker and causing her to abandon the attempt and ride away alone.
First-responders provided medical care to the girl on site. NYPD has issued images showing the suspect near the turnstiles, describing her attire in detail. The investigation remains open, and authorities are asking the public to call the Crime Stoppers hotline with any information.
