Woman Killed After SUV Slams Into Backyard Pool in Long Island
A 40-year-old driver lost control of her SUV, striking a tree and a parked car before the vehicle fell into a residential pool in Hewlett, resulting in her death.
Police say the unidentified woman was driving a 2023 GMC SUV when it veered off the road, hit a tree and a stationary vehicle, and then plunged into a swimming pool on Elinor Road near Woodside Drive. Officers performed emergency medical procedures on site before she was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The cause of death has not been released and the investigation continues.
