Woman launches online hunt for man she says filmed her in SoCal mall dressing room

On July 21, Sophia Schades was using a Nordstrom fitting room at Cerritos Mall when she spotted a concealed camera inside a black shirt on the floor of an adjacent room. She knocked on the suspect's door, accused him of recording, and captured his reaction on her phone as he emerged wearing a red shirt and black boots. Although he claimed he was not filming, Schades reported the incident to mall staff and called police; however, the man escaped before officers could intervene.

The Cerritos Sheriff’s Department logged the complaint and a detective is now handling the investigation. To aid the search, Schades uploaded the video to Instagram and urged users to help identify the perpetrator, later indicating she may have a name but is awaiting police confirmation. An additional anonymous message suggested the same individual had behaved similarly at Montclair Plaza a week earlier, though that claim remains unverified.
