Woman rescued after shouting for help sparks search for missing jet skier in Long Beach

A woman in her 40s was saved after screaming for assistance, prompting authorities to launch a search for her 54-year-old male companion who remains missing.

Late Sunday night, emergency services received 911 alerts about two jet-skiers who vanished near Alamitos Bay Landing in Long Beach. A woman in her 40s shouted for help, prompting nearby fishermen to notify the Long Beach Fire Department, which rescued her after she reached the breakwater rocks between Queen’s Gate and the L.A. Light.

She was transported to a local hospital and is listed as stable. The U.S. Coast Guard and the fire department later retrieved the two jet skis outside the breakwater at 1:15 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. The missing rider, a 54-year-old man who was not wearing a life jacket, remains unlocated as the search continues.
