Woman sentenced to three months for breaching anonymity order in Donaldson case
Donna Toman, 55, received a three-month jail term after pleading guilty to violating a lifetime ban on publishing material that could identify a victim of former MP Jeffrey Donaldson.
In Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court, Donna Toman, a 55-year-old resident of the Lord Moira Park area of Ballynahinch, was sentenced to three months in prison for breaching a lifetime ban on publishing material that might reveal the identity of a victim linked to former MP Jeffrey Donaldson. Toman had previously admitted guilt to the charge after posting material on social media that could enable identification of the victim.
The judge highlighted her previous popularity as a Dolly Parton impersonator before confirming the conviction. Donaldson was convicted earlier of multiple sexual offences involving two women, who remain protected by lifelong anonymity. Toman was released on bail while she prepares to appeal the sentence.
