Woman trapped in car trunk calls emergency services before being thrown from viaduct
Lorena Isceri called 112 while locked in the trunk of her ex-partner's car, and later was killed when Federico Vella threw her from a viaduct on the A1.
In Florence's Rifredi area, Federico Vella waited for his former partner Lorena Isceri, assaulted her, and secured her hands and feet with straps before forcing her into the trunk of his car. While confined, Isceri retrieved a mobile phone from her backpack and placed a 112 call, asking responders to locate her via GPS. When emergency services reached the Autosole viaduct on the A1, Vella threw Isceri over the guardrail, resulting in a fatal fall of more than 25 metres.
After the fall, Vella remained on the edge for about thirty minutes, communicating with police and fire personnel and posting a final Instagram message. He eventually leapt from the viaduct, dying instantly. Prosecutor Antonio Natale and Florence Mobile commander Domenico Balsamo have searched the couple's home and will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
