Women of Wrestling launches live Season 5 from L.A. Live with Jeanie Buss on-camera

Women of Wrestling is entering a major growth phase with its fifth season, which will be aired live from L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. The move marks the league’s first live broadcast and coincides with an expanded on-camera presence for co-owner and promoter Jeanie Buss, who also serves as a governor of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Buss said the new role reflects her lifelong effort to give women visibility in traditionally male-dominated spaces. Founder David McLane, who also created Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, described the live format as a game-changer that will deliver bigger moments and a real-time audience experience. He noted the league’s strong performance metrics, including a 93 % audience return rate and a 96 % rise in social media followers since Season 1.

Andrew Simon, general manager of L.A. Live, expressed enthusiasm for hosting WOW, calling it a distinctive sports-entertainment property that resonates with fans of all ages. The announcement comes amid a broader surge in live and women’s sports programming across major platforms.
