Woody Allen's Upcoming Madrid Comedy Secures International Sales Representation
WestEnd Films will handle worldwide sales for Woody Allen's new English-language comedy, set to start filming in Madrid on October 5.
Woody Allen is set to write and direct a new English-language comedy that will be filmed in Madrid and the surrounding region starting on Oct. 5. The picture stars an international ensemble that includes Marton Csokas, Jemima Kirke, Jakob Oftebro, Peter Vives and Alexi Wasser. WestEnd Films has taken on world-sales duties and will showcase the project to international buyers at the upcoming American Film Market, extending its long-standing collaboration with Allen’s Gravier Productions after the strong performance of “Coup de Chance.”
Production partners also feature Madrid-based Wanda Vision and 3SIX9 Studios, with cinematography by José Luis Alcaine and production design by Sonia Grande and Alain Bainée. Allen expressed enthusiasm for returning to Spain, noting this will be his first film shot in Madrid. The film adds to Allen’s previous Spanish-location works, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and “Rifkin’s Festival.”
