Worker kills colleague over chicken dispute during drunken fight in Belagavi
A steel plant employee stabbed his co-worker to death after an argument about chicken portions during a drunken altercation in Belagavi district.
On August 23, a dispute over chicken portions erupted among steel-factory workers in Hunashyal PG village, Mudalagi taluk, Belagavi district. Arunkumar Balishtar Chavan alleged that Sathiram Chandradev had taken more chicken and responded by stabbing him in the chest with a knife found at the site. The victim bled heavily and died instantly.
Chavan later transported the body to the government hospital in Gokak, falsely telling doctors the death resulted from a fall while welding. Police detected a deep chest injury, disproved the fall story, and arrested Chavan after a detailed investigation, also seizing the weapon used.
