Works Ministry submits infrastructure plan to Finance Ministry for 2027 budget

In Putrajaya, the Works Ministry delivered its set of infrastructure development initiatives to the Finance Ministry for review ahead of the 2027 budget. Alexander Nanta Linggi explained that the ministry conducted a thorough assessment of its needs and compiled a comprehensive wish list of projects. The budget, to be tabled by Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim on October 9, will consider these proposals.

In the previous fiscal year, KKR secured the highest development allocation of the 28 ministries, receiving RM9.6 billion, which represents almost one-tenth of the RM81 billion total development spend. The submission coincided with the Malaysia BIM Day 2026 ceremony, which also featured Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh.
