She said each is pursuing her own path, with Ashley yet to hear Wynonna’s upcoming album, “The Hard Truth.” The rift follows the 2022 suicide of their mother, Naomi Judd, which had previously sparked rumors of a fight over her estate—rumors Wynonna dismissed at the time.

Wynonna recalled that the sisters grew apart when they were 14 and 18 due to their respective successes and missed many shared experiences. While she did not link the family tension to the new record, she said the album is her most honest work, inspired in part by Naomi’s memory. The record also mentions Wynonna’s estranged daughter, Grace Kelley, who is serving a 15-month sentence in Virginia.
