Xbox opens limited preorders for $900 25th-anniversary green console bundle
Xbox has begun taking preorders for a limited-edition translucent green Series X bundle priced at $900, which includes a matching controller and a Halo digital download.
Xbox announced that preorders are now live for its 25th-anniversary collection, a $900 bundle that pairs a limited-edition translucent green Series X console with a matching wireless controller and a Halo: Campaign Evolved digital download. Each console bears a unique serial number and an Xbox 25 logo, distinguishing it from the standard $800 Series X model that lacks the special colorway and game. Initially, only a subset of the most dedicated fans can order; the general public will be able to preorder on August 27 at 10 a.m. ET, with deliveries expected on November 15, exactly 25 years after the original launch.
For those who prefer just the controller, it is available separately for $80. Xbox also disclosed partnerships with several accessory manufacturers to produce additional anniversary-themed hardware.
Why it matters
Fans can secure a collectible Xbox console celebrating 25 years, but the high price and limited availability may affect affordability and demand.
