In Beijing, President Xi Jinping met with Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa, reaffirming China’s support for Latin America’s independence and self-reliance. Xi asserted that the region should remain a zone of peace and that its development path must not be disrupted, insisting that each nation’s partner choices be free from interference. He called for stronger political trust between China and Ecuador and proposed broader collaboration in energy, mineral extraction, infrastructure projects and financial services.
The talks took place as part of Noboa’s week-long visit, which began on Sunday. Meanwhile, China has reinstated export privileges for eight shrimp processing facilities in Ecuador, a move described by the National Chamber of Aquaculture as a major advance after extensive technical discussions.
