Yankees team up with prediction market Polymarket in new stadium partnership

The New York Yankees announced a partnership with prediction-market platform Polymarket, placing its branding throughout Yankee Stadium and on televised game graphics.

The Yankees have entered a sponsorship agreement with prediction-market exchange Polymarket, which will feature the brand on advertisements around Yankee Stadium and on LED displays behind home plate during YES Network telecasts. Michael Tusiani, the team’s senior vice president of partnerships, said the partnership will increase Polymarket’s exposure to the franchise’s large fan base. The move comes amid a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James and Governor Kathy Hochul against Kalshi, a competitor accused of operating an illegal sports-betting service; Polymarket is not implicated in that case.

Polymarket already serves as the official prediction market for Major League Baseball, with a reported potential value of up to $300 million over three years. Ari Borod, Polymarket’s president of sports business development, called the Yankees a natural fit for the platform. It remains unclear whether the Yankees have a contractual exit clause if courts deem prediction markets unlawful in the state.

Why it matters

The partnership links a major sports franchise with a growing prediction-market platform amid legal scrutiny of similar services in New York.
