Yankees weigh rotation options as Ryan Weathers extends scoreless streak

In the meantime, Ryan Weathers delivered a six-inning, zero-run performance in a 2-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, extending his personal streak of scoreless innings to 17 2/3, the longest of his career.

He limited the Cardinals to four hits, one walk and six strikeouts on just 88 pitches, relying heavily on his off-speed arsenal after cutting his four-seam fastball usage from 28.2% in June to 13.3% in July. The win lowered his ERA to 3.79, the lowest since May, and gave him career highs in starts (22) and innings pitched (121). Aaron Boone praised Weathers' efficiency and attack but said any move to the bullpen would depend on the health of the rest of the staff, leaving the rotation spot undecided.
