Yellow weather alert issued for western Netherlands due to strong gusts

A yellow warning has been issued for western parts of the Netherlands on Friday morning because of potentially severe south-west wind gusts.

The KNMI announced that a code-yellow alert will be in effect from 08:00 until early afternoon on Friday for several western provinces and water areas. Expected gusts may reach between 75 and 90 km/h, coming from the south-west. The agency cautioned that the wind could disrupt traffic and outdoor activities, and warned of possible falling branches, roof tiles or garden furniture.
