Yemen's army reports 1,860 Houthi fighters neutralised in large-scale counter-offensive

The internationally recognised Yemeni army announced that 1,860 Houthi fighters have been neutralised since launching the Dawn of Yemen counter-offensive. In a social-media post, the army spokesperson said 2,103 precise targeting operations were carried out against Houthi positions across multiple fronts. The Saudi-led coalition also reported destroying 82 Houthi military targets, including missile sites, in several governorates. Recent Houthi missile strikes on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Abha International Airport killed three people and injured dozens.

Since the start of the Dawn of Yemen campaign, the Yemeni government’s army says it has neutralised 1,860 Houthi fighters. The army’s spokesperson posted that 2,103 precise targeting operations were executed against rebel positions on several fronts. The offensive aims to recapture all Houthi-held territory, including the capital Sanaa, and has focused on areas near the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the city of Mocha.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition announced the destruction of 82 Houthi targets—such as ballistic-missile storages and command centres—in Saada, Hodeidah, al-Jawf and Marib. The operation follows Houthi missile attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, which resulted in three fatalities and numerous injuries, according to Saudi civil aviation authorities.
