Yolanda Díaz says Spain's left is fully ready for a snap election

Yolanda Díaz warned that the decision to call early general elections rests solely with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and affirmed that the left is completely prepared for such a scenario.

During a gathering on social economy in San Román de Cervantes, Lugo, Yolanda Díaz reiterated that the authority to move up the general election date belongs exclusively to Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. She asserted that the left-wing parties are "absolutely prepared" to contest an election should it be called ahead of schedule. Díaz highlighted her frequent communications with Sánchez concerning her duties as vice-president and labour minister.

She also called on progressive citizens to stay resilient and not be "intimidated or disappointed" following the parliamentary setback on housing decrees the previous Friday. The remarks were made alongside filmmaker Oliver Laxe, underscoring the event's cultural dimension.
