Young Democratic women overwhelmingly blame men for societal challenges, poll shows
A Survey Center on American Life poll finds that 66% of Democratic women aged 18-29 attribute most women’s problems to men, while only 18% of Republican women do the same.
According to the Survey Center on American Life, 66% of Democratic women between 18 and 29 believe that men’s behavior accounts for a great deal of the difficulties women encounter in the United States, while only 18% of Republican women share this view. The partisan divide lessens among older age brackets, yet Democratic women still outpace Republican women by 20-50 percentage points across all groups. In contrast, Republican men are more inclined than Democratic men to attribute their own problems to women, with at least 26% of young Republican men doing so.
Parallel research from one outlet's shows a similar gender perception gap among Gen-Z in the UK, and a German university survey finds many left- and right-leaning women prefer to stay single rather than date across political lines. These findings suggest growing polarization of gender attitudes along party lines both in the US and abroad.
