Young man arrested in Bergen on suspicion of attempted murder

A man in his twenties was arrested by the Police in Vest on Monday morning at his Bergen residence and is now facing an attempted murder charge. The arrest follows the early-morning discovery of a 60-year-old man, who was found by bystanders partially conscious and subsequently admitted to hospital with injuries. Authorities allege the younger suspect is responsible for the assault, basing the charge on the victim’s wounds.

Investigators have carried out preliminary examinations at both the crime scene and the victim’s home, conducted a round-up of witnesses, and engaged forensic specialists to deepen the inquiry. Police have not excluded the possibility of additional participants and are examining any relationship between the suspect and the victim. The investigation remains in its early phase.
