Young Polish defender Oskar Kordus dies after deer crashes through his car windshield
20-year-old defender Oskar Kordus of Kania Gostyn was killed in a road accident near Gostyn when a deer, after being hit by another vehicle, struck his BMW through the windshield.
Oskar Kordus, a 20-year-old centre-back for the Polish club Kania Gostyn, lost his life after a bizarre collision on the DW434 near Gostyn. A deer entered the roadway and was initially hit by a Volkswagen driver, which propelled the animal into the opposite lane where it crashed through the windshield of Kordus’s BMW, striking him directly. Paramedics arrived quickly, administered resuscitation attempts and declared him without vital signs.
He was then transferred by a SMURD helicopter to a Poznan hospital, but his injuries proved fatal and he died at about 22:30. The Volkswagen driver escaped without injury, and the club expressed deep condolences to Kordus’s family and friends.
