Young woman found dead in Carlton flat after earlier police report
A 21-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a Carlton apartment had filed a police report weeks before her death, her family said.
Police recovered the body of 21-year-old Jayda Lou-Eve Allen Bonner in a Carlton apartment complex on Cardigan Street shortly after 1:45 a.m. on Saturday. According to her aunt Kellie Carter-Bell, Allen Bonner had lodged a police report against an unnamed individual roughly six weeks prior and had seemed dramatically frail in the days leading up to her death. Emergency services were called to the building, prompting the discovery.
A 60-year-old man was taken into custody nearby, questioned by investigators and subsequently released while inquiries continue. Authorities have not released further details, and the case remains under active investigation.
