Young women with endometriosis to receive earlier medical support
A new initiative will allow adolescents suffering from endometriosis to be examined and treated sooner, after stories like Aurora Enger-Olsen’s highlighted delayed diagnosis.
Norwegian health officials announced plans to shorten the waiting time for teenagers with endometriosis to receive specialist care. Aurora Enger-Olsen, 19, recounted severe pain and heavy bleeding that began at age 14, culminating in a fainting episode. She said no one warned her that her symptoms were abnormal. The policy change aims to prevent similar experiences for other young patients.
