Youri Tielemans apologises to Aston Villa after boasting about Manchester United move

Youri Tielemans moved from Aston Villa to Manchester United in July after United activated a £35 million release clause. After stating that United are one of the clubs above Villa, he drew criticism from Villa fans who felt the remark belittled their recent Europa League triumph. The 29-year-old midfielder responded on Instagram, saying his remarks were not meant to insult the club and that he deeply respects Villa.

He acknowledged his mistake and pledged to be more mindful of his language in the future. Tielemans highlighted his transfer as the result of years of dedication to football. He is expected to feature for United in their season-opening Premier League game against Hull on August 22.
