Youth Congress detains protest at BJP office in Bengaluru over NEET issues

Several Karnataka Youth Congress workers attempted to gherao the BJP office in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, on Sunday as part of a protest over alleged NEET examination irregularities and a string of student suicides. Police responded by detaining the participants, who were subsequently released. Demonstrators shouted slogans against the Centre, claiming the government was jeopardising the futures of lakhs of students and demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Youth Congress alleged that police employed a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee president H S Manjunath denounced the forceful action, describing it as cowardly and a suppression of democratic protest. The incident highlights ongoing tensions between state youth political groups and the ruling party over education policy.
