YouTube adds Amazon product tags to Shorts and livestreams in India
YouTube is extending its Amazon product-tagging feature to creators in India, allowing tags in Shorts, long videos and live streams.
At the Made on YouTube 2026 event, the company announced that Amazon product tagging will become available to creators in India and Brazil, after debuting for U.S. creators in August. The feature lets creators attach Amazon product links to Shorts, longer videos and livestreams, with URLs automatically localized to each viewer's region. YouTube Shopping, launched in India in October 2024 with Flipkart and Myntra, now adds Amazon as a merchant and aims to operate in 35 countries by year-end.
Creators can earn commissions on cross-border sales, and new affiliate campaigns will let brands provide higher commission rates or bonuses for featured items. Additional announcements included Custom Feeds, AI tools, Live Showdowns and real-time dubbing for livestreams.
Why it matters
The expansion lets Indian creators monetize more easily and gives Amazon a new channel to reach shoppers on YouTube.
