YouTube star Markiplier becomes GoPro's top shareholder with 8.5% stake

YouTuber Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach has acquired an 8.5% holding in GoPro, making him the company's largest individual investor.

Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach announced that he now owns an 8.5% stake in GoPro, positioning him as the firm's single largest shareholder. He told one outlet the purchase reflects his view that the company is undervalued and supports his broader mission to make film production more accessible, especially after debuting his first movie, Iron Lung. In a recent video, Fischbach highlighted GoPro's new Mission 1 ILS camera, comparing it favorably to higher-priced alternatives and indicating plans to use it in future projects, though the video did not mention his ownership.

Fellow tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee reacted on Threads, calling the investment unusual but personal. GoPro has not provided a comment on the shareholder change.
