YTL Power and Ganda Power add four Siemens Energy gas turbines to portfolio

YTL Power International and Ganda Power have signed reservation agreements for four more Siemens Energy SGT-9000HL gas turbines, bringing their total to seven units.

YTL Power International Bhd and Ganda Power have entered reservation agreements with Siemens Energy for four extra SGT-9000HL gas turbine units, raising their combined order to seven turbines. The added units, together with the three already reserved, will deliver more than 5,250 MW of electricity to power generation projects across Malaysia and neighboring markets. In a statement, managing director Datuk Seri Yeoh Seok Hong praised Siemens Energy’s three-decade partnership and the turbines’ high efficiency, flexibility, and reliability.

He linked the expanded capacity to the growing needs of the artificial intelligence economy and the integration of renewable energy sources. The SGT-9000HL family is marketed as a solution for dependable power supply amid shifting energy mixes. This move positions the consortium to offer competitive, sustainable energy solutions regionally.
