ZDF declines to condemn comedian Kurt Krömer’s anti-AfD voter remarks
ZDF said it will not denounce Kurt Krömer’s recent comments calling AfD supporters “pig faces,” and offered no comment on any moderation policy.
Kurt Krömer, a well-known German comedian, recently posted an Instagram video in which he referred to AfD voters as “pig faces” and declared he would not accept their money. A request to ZDF about imposing a moderation requirement following the remarks was left unanswered. Instead, a ZDF spokesperson pointed to Krömer’s forthcoming show, described as a blend of game-show and talk-show elements, without providing information on the program’s cost, the fee paid to the comedian, or the decision-making process behind it.
The broadcaster also declined to say whether the show will welcome AfD voters in the audience. Production will be handled by the external company bildundtonfabrik, which also creates other ZDF formats.
