Zelensky discusses de-escalation and Dutch aid with Prime Minister Jetten in New York

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced via Telegram that he met Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten at the United Nations headquarters in New York. During the encounter, Zelensky outlined one outlet negotiations with the United States and described the de-escalation proposals being considered, emphasizing Ukraine’s priority of achieving peace. He said Kyiv is prepared to refrain from retaliatory actions in the energy sector and against Russian exports if Moscow shows comparable willingness.

Zelensky praised the Netherlands for its military, energy-related and financial aid, which he said strengthens Ukraine’s stance. He warned that, for now, Russia continues to strike Ukrainian targets with ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, compelling Ukraine to concentrate on protecting its population. The president also noted his presence in New York for the UN General Assembly and his planned discussions with Donald Trump.
