In a televised briefing while in Canada, President Volodimir Zelenszkij revealed that Ukraine has started deploying F-16 fighter jets to shoot down jet-powered drones, a capability lacking in other armaments. He acknowledged the steep price of operating F-16s but argued that protecting human life outweighs the cost. Zelenszkij also said a collaborative Ukrainian-Canadian missile, designed specifically for these drones, is ready for practical trials once Canadian and Ukrainian specialists arrive in Ukraine.
He stressed the priority of domestic production, noting that 67 Ukrainian companies are working on similar technologies, with several already showing results. The announcement came as Russian forces continued attacks in the north, killing three and injuring seven in Priluki, and causing additional casualties in Pavlohrad and Herszon. These developments underscore both the military and humanitarian dimensions of the conflict.
