Zelensky urges U.S. lawmakers to fast-track missile aid and cut Russian financing
President Zelensky thanked a U.S. congressional team in Kyiv and pressed for the Lindsey Graham Act, faster Patriot missile licensing and stronger sanctions on Russia.
In Kyiv, President Zelensky met with a bipartisan U.S. congressional delegation, thanking them for their presence amid relentless Russian strikes. He noted that Shahed drones have damaged two schools and targeted bridges, energy sites and other critical assets in the capital. Zelensky demanded that the Lindsey Graham Act be put into effect to fully sever financial support for Russia’s war machine.
He also pressed for quicker licensing to produce Patriot system missiles, offering Ukraine’s capacity to manufacture ballistic interceptors for both its own use and allied forces. The talks covered expanding Starlink coverage to aid Ukrainian communications. Throughout the meeting, an air-raid alert remained active due to the drone threat. Zelensky concluded by praising continued U.S. support.
