Zelensky warns EU that Russia will exploit far-right, migration and gender issues
Volodymyr Zelensky told an Italian newspaper that Russian propaganda is heavily funded and aims to manipulate far-right, religious, migration and gender debates across Europe and the United States.
Speaking with an Italian daily, President Zelensky warned that Russia has allocated funding comparable to its war budget to a sprawling propaganda operation aimed at Europe and the United States. He described a hybrid war that has long targeted Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Germany, using all media channels to spread narratives that stir far-right, religious, migration and gender controversies. Zelensky stressed that Russia will strike wherever societal fault lines exist, from language debates to religious tensions.
He also highlighted recent frictions with Washington, where President Donald Trump has demanded a halt to Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, arguing they raise fuel prices. Meanwhile, President Vladimir Putin is seeking a three-way summit with Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to discuss ending the conflict, according to a report in one outlet.
