Zelenskyy seeks meeting with Trump in New York to discuss ceasefire and aid

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenszkij announced his intention to travel to New York next week for a possible meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump, pending schedule compatibility. He said Kyiv is ready to discuss a maritime and energy ceasefire, and will push for at least a limited grain and energy pause if Russia does not consent to a full halt. Zelenszkij expects the discussion to include the delivery of ballistic missiles to Ukraine.

He also mentioned a move toward a three-party negotiation structure that would involve the United States and Russia. The Ukrainian foreign ministry reiterated Kyiv’s willingness to return to multilateral talks, while noting that major diplomatic breakthroughs are unlikely before Russia’s State Duma elections.
