Zetrix AI pledges full cooperation with police and MACC amid revenue arrears probe

Zetrix AI confirmed it will work with police and the anti-corruption agency as investigations continue, saying its operations remain unaffected.

Zetrix AI submitted a response to Bursa Malaysia Securities after being asked about a recent news story that police had questioned six witnesses in a case involving MyEG and the firm. The company asserted that its day-to-day operations continue without impact and promised to keep the market informed of any material developments. Police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission are investigating the alleged non-transfer of RM230.9 million in government fees that Zetrix collected on behalf of the road transport department (JPJ).

The investigation stems from earlier disclosures that MyEG and Zetrix together owe JPJ RM314 million in unpaid amounts. Transport minister Loke Siew Fook noted that Zetrix had received 35 settlement notices and had submitted a cheque for RM231 million, which was later rejected by the bank.

Why it matters

The case highlights potential mismanagement of public funds and could affect confidence in Malaysia's digital revenue-collection system.
