Ahold Delhaize finally files police report over Albert Heijn cyberattack
Parent company Ahold Delhaize has lodged a formal complaint with authorities regarding the cyberattack on Albert Heijn, after more than a week of delay.
Ahold Delhaize submitted a police report today concerning the recent cyber intrusion that hit its Albert Heijn stores. The company had previously been urged by police and the Public Prosecution Service to file a complaint, but had not done so until now. Earlier contact with Ahold did not result in a report. The filing follows a public call for action made last week.
Why it matters
The filing enables police to investigate the breach that affected a major grocery retailer, potentially safeguarding consumer data and supply chains.
