Airbus Helicopters acknowledges AS350 crash in Chatsworth while filming news

Airbus Helicopters confirmed that a Welk Aviation AS350 helicopter crashed in Chatsworth, California on Sept. 15 during a news-gathering mission, resulting in fatalities.

The manufacturer said the AS350, operated by Welk Aviation, was involved in an accident while covering local television news. Airbus expressed condolences to the victims' families and said it is cooperating with the NTSB investigation. The company noted that more than 4,800 AS350/H125 helicopters are currently in service with roughly 40 million flight hours logged. No further comment will be provided while the probe continues.
