Anwar Ibrahim to Lead MA63 Implementation Council Meeting in Sabah on Friday
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will chair the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council meeting in Sabah on Friday, with Sarawak Premier Abang Johari and Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor also attending.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to preside over the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council meeting on Friday, September 11, at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu. The event will be hosted by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, with Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg also slated to attend. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Sabah and Sarawak, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, emphasized that the council serves as the main forum for coordinating the federal government’s implementation of the 1963 agreement with the two states.
He noted that the meeting will include a special session dedicated to the agreement, during which the prime minister will speak on pertinent issues. The council’s mandate is to discuss and protect the rights and interests of Sabah and Sarawak under the historic pact. The announcement was made at a ceremony for fire-victim assistance in Kota Kinabalu.
