Apple announced the HomeView smart display, a 7-inch touchscreen hub powered by Siri AI, available in two models for $299 starting November 13.
Apple unveiled HomeView, a 7-inch square Liquid Retina smart display designed around Siri AI, slated for release on November 13 at $299 for both tabletop and wall-mount versions. The device offers a down-firing woofer, passive radiators, and two full-range drivers, while the tabletop model includes a stainless-steel hinge and a base available in Silver, Starlight, Rose Pink, and Space Gray. Interaction is limited to touch and voice, with no physical buttons, and the screen can dim to 0.3 nits, the lowest brightness Apple has offered.
A 12-megapixel FaceTime camera with Center Stage enables video calls, and the system supports native iOS apps, voice and video services, and a new Safari recipe mode. Powered by the A18 chip, HomeView uses facial and voice recognition to present personalized interfaces and requires periodic iPhone or iPad authentication. Apple also highlighted its Home Collection of smart-home devices, developed with LG and Schneider Electric, which will integrate seamlessly with the new display.
