Balochistan security forces report 19 terrorists killed and one soldier slain in multi-area ops

The Inter-Services Public Relations announced that operations across Balochistan killed 19 terrorists and a soldier died in combat.

The ISPR said that, beginning on Sept 21, security units cleared multiple terrorist hideouts in the Shaban area of Quetta district, killing 13 militants linked to Indian-sponsored groups and seizing arms and explosives. Follow-up intelligence-driven raids in Kech and Quetta West on Sept 22-23 killed six additional terrorists. Separate incidents reported by state broadcasters included nine militants killed in Mastung, two in Turbat’s Jausak area, and five in Quetta’s Aghbarg neighbourhood.

Subedar Muhammad Jamil, a 39-year-old soldier from Taunsa Sharif, was martyred during the exchanges. The campaigns are part of the broader ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ counter-terrorism drive aimed at eradicating foreign-backed militancy in Pakistan.

Why it matters

The killings highlight ongoing security challenges and the Pakistani military's focus on dismantling cross-border militant networks.
