BC Conservatives pull five-point lead over NDP in final week poll
A new poll shows the BC Conservatives ahead of the NDP by five points among decided voters as the provincial election enters its last week.
An online poll conducted between Oct. 15 and Oct. 19 by Innovative Research Group indicates that the BC Conservatives are leading the NDP by five points among voters who have made a choice. The Conservatives enjoy marginal leads across all regions, and a pronounced advantage among Punjabi and Chinese-speaking voters in key Lower Mainland swing ridings. The survey shows Lorne Doerkson improving his leadership ratings, gaining up to ten points on competence and sitting two points ahead of Premier David Eby.
While overall undecided voters are below 10 percent, more than half of Green supporters remain uncertain, offering the NDP a potential boost from second-choice preferences. The poll, weighted to reflect the provincial population, surveyed 1,153 adults and used additional respondents from Lucid’s online panel.
Why it matters
The poll suggests the BC Conservatives may maintain a lead, shaping expectations for the upcoming provincial election.
