Ben Gvir and Gotliv demand Defense and Justice ministries in coalition talks
Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben Gvir and MK Tally Gotliv presented their coalition agenda, seeking the Defense Ministry for Ben Gvir and the Justice Ministry for Gotliv.
At a coalition-building session on Tuesday, Otzma Yehudit chairman Itamar Ben Gvir and MK Tally Gotliv submitted a list of ministerial posts they expect to receive in the next government. Ben Gvir wants to head the Defense Ministry and proposes a security plan that would promote voluntary relocation from the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria, strip the Palestinian Authority of weapons, and imprison senior PA figures accused of supporting terrorism.
He also seeks to modify IDF engagement rules, raise soldiers’ salaries, award land to combat troops, and revise the military’s ethical code while opening elite units such as Unit 8200 to the broader population. Gotliv’s request is to assume the Justice Ministry. Both politicians presented additional measures aimed at overhauling Israel’s security and judicial systems.
